GOSPEL GYPSIES: This Is What The Lord Has Said

I went to the sea
With my boat and my men
But could not find a single fish
Caught in the net
Then this is what the Lord had said,
follow me, I make you fishers of men

I was caught somewhere
in the middle of a storm
Frightened and scared
I called out to the Lord
Then this is what the Lord had said,
Little men like you have very little faith

I went with the crowd
To the mountain side
To hear Him talk,
With the wisdom of the wise
Then this is what the Lord had said,
Rejoice and be glad heaven is ahead

I know when I am wrong
I’ll be trampled by men
Not good in this world
Is not good in heaven
Then this is what the Lord had said,
I will shine my light upon all godly men

So don’t think I have come
To abolish the law
I have come to fulfill
And I’ll tell you what I saw
Then this is what the Lord had said,
Love thy neighbour and you’ll pass the test
